Special Education Services

Special Education "Instructional services" are provided by school district special education teachers and paraprofessionals. See Co-op Member School District web pages on home page.

Special Education "Related Services" are generally provided by the BVEC in collaboration with school district personnel. Related services are provided if deemed necessary for a child to benefit from his or her special education program. If Transportation is a required related service this is provided by the school district. Otherwise, the most common related services are provided by the BVEC in collaboration with the school district.

The most common special education related services provided by the BVEC; speech therapy*, audiology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, adapted PE, assistive technology, psychological assessment, counseling/mental health, behavior intervention support.

*Speech therapy is also a stand alone service and is not required to be a related service to an instructional program.
